Welcome to the Jungle - Iquitos, Peru

Before leaving the Island of the Sun in Bolivia we accomplished our biggest task to date!!! It involved three of us traveling hours in a boat to a specific location on Lake Titicaca, and was by far the most intense experience for me, both energetically and physically, of all the Work we accomplished in South America. Afterwards we docked and climbed atop a small island for a ceremonial celebration. It was the perfect ending to our time within this sacred lago.

Another day of boats and taxis and we were back in Puno, Peru to begin planning for the Amazon. It was here that I turned 50 and celebrated with a relaxing day of no travel (hooray), a very long and hot bath (such a luxury), and dinner at a Chinese restaurant (yummm).

As the details of the Amazon excursion timeframe came to be known, it was evident that my remaining days in Peru would not be logistically sufficient for me to join this extended trek into the southern territory. The Higher Realms soon revealed it was time for me to part from the soul family I'd been Working with for weeks and spend my remaining days in the northern jungle of Peru. The last major task required anchoring two power points in the Peruvian Amazon - one point in the north (Iquitos) and one point in the southern territory.

I was to travel north, and my friends to travel south. With this knowledge, we returned to Cusco (a 7-hour taxi ride) where I bid farewell and boarded the first of two planes to reach Iquitos. Welcome to the Jungle!

What a contrast between the dry, high-elevation cold and the hot, humid weather of the Amazon. Iquitos is the largest city in the world that cannot be reached by road, it is accessible only by river and air, and is filled with mostly motorbikes and 3-wheeled motor taxis. It's also quite a rough town, and not recommended to be out at night.

The 24 hours I spent in downtown Iquitos before heading into the jungle proper was filled with Work, Work and more Work! From the moment I stepped out of my hotel until I returned it was non-stop transmissions. In the daylight hours I traversed the streets and The Boulevard (riverfront) holding my cell phone as if I was having an intense conversation, all the while speaking Star Language non-stop for hours! I have to chuckle looking back on it, but at the time I was on high-alert and what I saw and felt while there was definitely no joke. I could not wait to get the heck outta dodge but I had no idea of where to go. (Above images of traffic and The Boulevard fountain are from the web.)

With the assistance of friends of a friend, and of course Spirit's guidance, I quickly found myself 40-minutes outside of town on a private jungle property in my own treehouse with no neighbors. A couple times a day I would meet with the shaman who owned the land and prepared my meals... but mostly it was just me and the jungle.

For three amazing days and nights I communed with Pachamama, completed the task of anchoring the northern power point, explored the land, curled up in a hammock, and enjoyed the ever-present song of the jungle. I was visited by little monkeys, giant butterflies, woodpeckers, and of course... insects. Lots and lots of insects. We all lived in harmony, well, except for those pesky mosquitos, they like to cause trouble ;)

I was guided to work with a beautiful heart-opening master plant medicine called Bobinsana, which we freshly harvested from the property (bottom right picture). At 3am sharp each morning my host would arrive, perform a blessing with sacred tobacco, and have me drink the infusion of flower, roots, and water. Then I would return to sleep.

The time spent within the embrace of this wylderness was a magical, intensely healing, and deeply transformative journey back Home to Self, and the ending to a most epic South American adventure in Divine Service to All Life. The Sacred Work continues...
